Common mistakes to avoid
Confusing gauge pressure and absolute pressure when converting
A tyre pressure gauge reads pressure above atmospheric (gauge pressure), not the true absolute pressure — converting a gauge PSI reading directly without accounting for this distinction can matter in contexts (like the Pressure at Depth Calculator) where absolute pressure is specifically needed.
Assuming 1 atmosphere and 1 bar are the same
